About the Artist:
Trish started painting about 20 years ago and over the years developed her own realist impressionist style, using her preferred oil and acrylic mediums. She has further refined her skills by attending many workshops and demonstrations by well-known Australian Artists who have given her guidance and inspiration.
She loves to get outdoors at every opportunity to paint the beautiful landscapes surrounding her and enjoys painting trips away with fellow artist friends.
Trish is currently a member of the Blackheath Art Society, the Oatley 101 Art Society and the Combined Art Societies of Sydney and has been exhibiting her work through these Art Societies for several years. She also exhibits at The Royal Easter Show, Art of Sydney and many smaller exhibitions and has won several awards including; First, Highly Commended, Commended and Finalist. Trish has been very successful at selling her work at various exhibitions and through OzArt Finder.
"One of my greatest pleasures is setting up my easel on the side of a dirt track, or in the middle of a paddock, trying to capture the essence of the subject in all its' ever-changing moods", says Helen Hudson. "For the last 20 years my engagement with the Blue Mountains bush, valleys and cliffs has inspired my interpretation of this wonderful natural environment"
From early childhood Helen exhibited her budding talent for painting and drawing and it was no surprise that she pursued a career as a painter and teacher in watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastels and mixed media after graduating from the National Art School in East Sydney.
Since then she has been awarded many prizes and commendations throughout her long career - one of the highlights being invited, along with other luminaries such as Margaret Olley and Ken Done, to donate a painting to the Conservatorium of Music for a fund raising auction. Her works are represented in corporate and private collections throughout the UK, Europe, the USA and China.
She is a member of the Blackheath Art Society as well as the Society of Mountain Artists, was a foundation member of the Australian Society of Miniature Art and an Associate Member of the Royal Art Society of NSW.
