Background

Artist’s Statement

I am a self taught artist and became interested in art at an early age.  I have always had a great love and affection for animals so they are the focus of my art.  I try to capture their uniqueness and depth of soul in my paintings.

I like to experiment with different mediums but my preferred medium is acrylics.

I specialise in pet portraits using acrylic on mountboard and for something a little different, on river rocks. 

In the last couple of years I have ventured into 3D Resin Art which is a process involving painting in acrylics on layer upon layer of resin to create artwork with a perception of depth and realism.   The fish and other creatures in my 3D artwork are made up solely of acrylic paint.  I often add rocks, shells or coins for effect and my “Oscar” the octopus has a clay body so that it can be above the surface.  Everything else is just acrylic paint. 

I believe I am one of only a few artists in Australia producing this type of artwork.
