Background

Artist’s Statement

Born in 1950, now a retired rural labourer living in the South-West region of W.A. Since coming here in the late 1960’s, the local sea and landscapes still inspire me as a painter.

The people who call this region home, their families, pets and farm stock have been reoccurring models. As visual art goes, I’ve got it all. Call me a regional hack if you like.

Art magazines (local and foreign) together with small town libraries have sustained me for decades.  Have used acrylics with occasional forays into watercolour since high school.  It is still a self-teaching process.  May it never end.
