Artist Background:
Almeta has been drawing/painting most of her life, beginning with painting pencil portraits of her girlfriends during Library class in high school. Took up porcelain painting at 28 years old, followed by fabric painting, then watercolours and finally, and currently, acrylics on canvas or board.
She specialises mainly in portraiture, pet portraiture, and beachscapes with contemporary work thrown into the mix.
She takes commissions. Together with artist, Victoria Fitzpatrick, she is exhibiting at St John's Cathedral, Brisbane for the month of November 2018. The theme of the exhibition is 'Up Close and Personal with Adoption/Fostering' and will be a display of portraits relating to that theme.
