Artist Background:

Founded in 1958 by Artist and Tutor Ronald Peters, the Bankstown Art Society is one of the oldest art societies in Sydney. We currently have more than 200 Members.

Our activities include classes for adults and children, exhibitions of members' work, demonstrations by well-known artists, a weekly workshop and social outings. 

The De Haan Gallery, in the Society's studio, displays examples of members' artworks.

The Bankstown Arts Centre Studio 1 Gallery is fully equipped with specialised lighting and hanging systems. We hold our major exhibitions in this newly renovated gallery.
