Their Studio, built in 1878 (used for many years as a grain store), consists of a large studio/gallery with excellent lighting, a smaller second studio, kitchen and storeroom.
The Society hold monthly meetings which are also social gatherings for their members to join in and meet other fellow painters. Members can also enjoy a demonstration, video or a guest speaker. Members are asked to bring a plate of food for supper or a donation.
Membership benefits include:
- To experience specialist workshops.
- To exhibit art work in their art shows and exhibitions.
- To enjoy the fellowship of other artists.
- To learn more from their art classes & sketch groups.
- Discounts on workshops and classes.
- Use of their facilities, such as library, which includes magazines, DVDs & videos.
A certain standard of expertise is required to gain membership, and once gained it is up to the individual to be as active as he/she wishes. Membership is determined by a selection committee who view 4 submitted paintings or drawings.
The Society can be contacted on (08) 8267 4226 to obtain an Application Form and to organize a suitable time for appraisal which usually takes about thirty minutes.

The Society hold three exhibitions for their members throughout each year. Their main events are held in autumn, winter and spring.
The Society organizes a wide range of untutored drawing and painting groups which are held at their Grain Store Studios in North Adelaide. These groups are coordinated by a leader and are open to both members and non-members. Workshops on various art disciplines are held throughout the year as are social nights where demonstrations by artists are given.
