Group Information
The Arts Society is located in a beautiful old Church building on the corner of Anderson & Hodgson Streets in Bairnsdale.
Their aims are to;
- Encourage Art among the Members and the Community.
- Foster,promote and protect the interests of Members and exhibitors at Art Exhibitions.
- Promote and hold Exhibitions.
- Hold functions and lectures relating to the Arts and to the objects of the Society generally.
- Collect and publish information relating to the Arts.
- Provide and award prizes for competitions at Art Exhibitions.
- Foster good relations with other Societies having similar aims.
- Promote and assist worthy causes as agreed at General Meetings of the Members .
- Invest the funds of the Members not immediately required as agreed by the Members.
- Purchase , hire or lease goods incidental to promoting objects of the Society.
The Arts Society also has;
Paint Days
Painting days are held at the workshop each Monday to assist beginners or members who feel that they need a little help. A senior artist is in attendance between 10 am and noon to offer guidance when needed. Members are welcome to stay and paint for the full day.
Library
The workshop has a library with various aspects of Art represented in the books and videos. These have been chosen with a view to helping members develop and improve their style.

Membership Information
Membership is open to all and is encouraged by the Society.
Membership fees
The yearly Membership fee is a very low $25 due on July 1 each year.
A once only joining fee of $10 is payable to cover the cost of your personal membership badge.
Committee Meetings
The committee meets on the 2nd Monday of the month at 10.00 AM and all members are welcome to attend. Meetings are held at the workshop.

Exhibitions
From time to time the Society holds various exhibitions where the artist has the opportunity to display and offer their work for sale .These are for members only.
Tuition
Workshops
Several times during the year, tutors of some repute are available to teach and demonstrate at a very moderate cost to the individual. These tutorials and demonstrations are usually advertised in the Society Newsletter and on the workshop noticeboard.
