Ballarat Society of Artists
|Number of Members:||100 +|
The Ballarat Society of Artists started in 1982 and currently has a membership of around 100 and growing. Volunteers hold office and positions of responsibility, to facilitate the various events that are held to promote art and the interests of the members.
They are a vibrant community-based, not for profit art group, practicing the art of painting. The Society aims to include all levels of painting expertise, from the amateur to the professional, focusing on the enjoyment of art.
As the Ballarat Society of Artist is a community group run by volunteers, the best way of making contact is by coming along to one of the group’s monthly meetings which are usually held on the first Saturday of every Month (except January) at The Brown Hill Uniting Church Hall on the corner of Humffray Street North and Thompson Street, Brown Hill, Ballarat, at 10.30am.
Benefits for members include:

- Plein-Air painting groups are organised in various locations including Sovereign Hill.
