Group Information
Drummoyne Art Society aims to foster visual arts with an open mind to all forms of artistic expression.
Established in 1964, Drummoyne Art Society is one of Sydney’s oldest and most prestigious Art Societies.
DAS as it is commonly known, now has over 160 members from across Sydney, Central Coast and Blue Mountains.
The Society presents two art exhibitions annually, and features classes to suit all levels and ages, plus monthly art demonstrations and regular newsletters for members.
DAS is a founding member of the Combined Art Societies of Sydney (CASS), and our members are able to attend art tuition at the annual Art in Action weekend and exhibit in the Art of Sydney exhibition. Members also have the opportunity to stay at the CASS cottage retreat in Kandos, Central West NSW, which we share with other CASS members, and enjoy painting en plein air in the beautiful surrounding countryside.
DAS is a friendly group of like-minded artists wanting to promote a society where all creative input is respected and encouraged, and where opportunities to exhibit are promoted.

Exhibitions
Drummoyne Art Society holds their Annual Members Exhibition in September and also exhibit throughout each year with the Combined Art Societies of Sydney.
The DAS Annual Open Art Awards exhibition, coinciding with Term 1 school holidays, and the DAS Annual Members Art exhibition, coinciding with Term 3 school holidays, are held in the Drummoyne Civic Hall. These exhibitions are a feature of the Drummoyne area, regularly including work by scores of artists and are viewed by up to 600 visitors, with dozens of works sold.

Workshops
From February to November, DAS holds monthly art demonstrations led by invited artists, inspiring budding and advanced artists with creative techniques and art tips. There is always something to learn.
Throughout the year members are also invited to enrol in moderate-sized workshops, run by established artists, held at our Concord premises of Gallery57.
Regular Art Classes
Art classes are run by our award-winning tutors, and are available for members and the general public, from beginners to advanced, in all mediums of painting and drawing.
Classes generally run for an eight-week term (approximately NSW school term dates), however students may start at any time. Students are welcome to work on their own projects with the guidance of our tutors, or a more structured lesson may be given if the student requires. All classes, including kids classes, take place at Gallery57 in Concord.
