The Launceston Art Society is a not-for-profit organisation that tries to improve life for all types of artists in and around Launceston. The Society is located in Eskleigh which is just south of Perth, along Scone Drive. Perth is approximately 20km south of Launceston along the Midland Highway.
The Society aims to play an active role in promoting art in northern Tasmania. Eskleigh is being developed as a centre for art where artists both amateur and professional, of all age groups, can paint, display their art, develop new skills through professional workshops, inspire and encourage each other, and meet new friends.

The group have over 200 members and welcome new members to join.
Membership includes copies of our quarterly newsletter, regular painting days, excursions and the opportunity to attend workshops. Full membership entitled you to exhibit with other artists at LAS exhibitions. It is expected that members make a contribution to LAS activities in terms of roster duty, etc., at group exhibitions.
Full Membership; $35 per year.
Friends of the Society; $15 per year.
Student Membership; $12 per year.
Junior Membership; free.
The Society hold several exhibitions throughout the year including their annual event, the ‘Holy Trinity’ which is generally held in August.
In addition to their special exhibitions, the Society also have their own magnificent gallery available for members to exhibit their art work to the public seven days a week.
The group hold regular workshops and take Art Therapy sessions.
