Group Information
The Moe Art Society began as a small group called Moe Newborough Art Group which became Moe City Art Group when they met in the old Moe City Library. When the library building was sold they then found a home in Old Gippstown in the historic Narracan Mechanics Institute Hall.
They are a non-profit organisation who subsidise several artistic activities for their group members. These include visits to art galleries and special exhibitions to encourage further growth and development.
The Society consist of a small group of approximately 30 members who meet every Thursday from 9.30am to 2pm (except Christmas holidays) in a very friendly atmosphere where their aim is to increase their interest in art with a willingness to share their experiences and skills within the group. The group works in a variety of styles and mediums.
The Society consists of a committee who are responsible for the running of the Society, organising events, purchasing equipment and welcomes suggestions and ideas from its members.
As well as sharing an interest in art, the group also shares social activities together.
