Group Information
The Moe Art Society began as a small group called Moe Newborough Art Group which became Moe City Art Group when they met in the old Moe City Library. When the library building was sold they then found a home in Old Gippstown in the historic Narracan Mechanics Institute Hall in Moe.
It is a non-profit organisation which subsidises several artistic activities for its members such as visits to art galleries and special exhibitions to encourage further growth and development.
The Society consists of a small group of approximately 30 members who meet every Thursday from 9.30am to 2pm (except Christmas holidays) to share their experiences and skills, inspirations and ideas within an encouraging, friendly and positive environment. Members work in a variety of styles and mediums and welcomes ideas and suggestions from its members.
The Society consists of a committee who are responsible for the running of the Society, organising events and purchasing equipment .
As well as sharing an interest in art, the group also shares social activities together.
