Group Information
The Royal Art Society of NSW is a non profit organisation with a gallery (Lavender Bay Gallery) and art school. They give their members the opportunity to support, contribute and be involved in the many events organised by the Society throughout each year. The Society’s charter is to foster awareness and appreciation in the visual arts.
Membership Information
Members are eligible to exhibit their works of art to the Society exhibitions and attend workshops, demonstrations and classes. Members also receive monthly newsletters to be well informed on the Society’s events.
Meetings are held twice monthly in the gallery rooms on a Tuesday evening.
There are two types of membership are available; Exhibiting Member or Social Member (non-exhibiting). Exhibiting Members are selected by the RAS Council.
Events
Exhibitions
The Society hold two main Annual Shows; their Annual Autumn Exhibition in March and their Annual Spring Exhibition in September. In addition to these main events they also organize several special exhibitions throughout each year.
The Society’s Lavender Bay Gallery is open to the public daily; 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday and from 11am to 4pm on weekends.

The RAS Art School provides workshops and regular classes covering a wide variety of subjects, techniques and media.
