Background
Born and raised in the inner west Sydney, Chrysovalantou (or otherwise known as Val) has been drawing and creating since a child. Arts and design where her main focus in high school and then chose the path of fashion design for her career path. 10 years in the industry, she realised that her heart could not continue in the field and turned to her drawing for some refreshment. She rekindled a fire, that has brought about this site. Chrysovalantou now exhibits her work in Sydney based shows.
Chrysovalantou Mavroudis;
I have been working with watercolour since 2012 and exhibiting my work from the beginning of 2014. Previous to this I worked in the fashion design industry for 10 years.
I paint in a wide range of subjects from street scenes, landscapes, animals, boats and the sea. Since deciding to follow my art, I have received numerous awards, and my work is held in private collections in Japan and throughout Australia.
I am passionate for the one shot medium of watercolour. Painting has allowed me to see the world from a different viewpoint, which I try to capture and paint for my audience. It’s fluidity and the unique ability to capture light, I consider as an exciting partnership between the painter, water and pigment.
Training
I have had the pleasure of discovering the magic of watercolour, studying under tutor and mentor, Australian watercolour artist Joe Cartwright.

I am a member of the Nepean and Drummoyne Art Societies in NSW.
