Background
I was born in Europe and migrated with my family to Australia. Drawing and painting was always a part of my life, but later in life, having a young family, art took a back seat for many years.
My first tutor was a passionate and well known Bavarian artist, Anna Maye, who excelled in acrylics in the Hinderloopin Art technique. Through this tutor’s guidance , I became proficient in this form of art, securing various awards and commissions.
I later embraced oils as my next medium. Derek O’Brien, a highly respected tutor in this medium and, through his knowledge, I was taught the Max Meldrum System which concentrated on tonal values. I became very passionate and proficient in being able to apply these mediums to my art.
I am a member of Oatley101 Art Society and Southern Cross Art Society and have exhibited and sold in many art venues throughout New South Wales.
Each year I donate two paintings for auction and monies raised go to RSAC, a charity organisation which helps disabled children and adults. The exhibits and selling of my art works at these venues listed above, has given me a great sense of achievement and success in the field I find very gratifying.
My love of painting is a fascination for the Australian Landscape, Blue Mountains and any subjects that makes my heart and senses feel good and rewarded. I love the immediacy of acrylics and the intensity of oils I am an avid enthusiast for colour, creating impact and style in the subject with tonal value and atmosphere in which the light and shade play a major part.
I endeavour to live my artistic life with the following statement: “To live a life without colour is to exist without life’s beauty and splendour that nature has to offer”
