Background
“The best laid plans of mice and men”. In her teens, Gloria studied advertising that did not eventuate into a career due to family responsibilities.
In her mid-twenties, she lived in Madrid, Spain for eight years liaising with the Spanish government on behalf of Cuban refugees. During that time she studied realistic painting in oils with a well- known Cuban artist Pedro Hernandez who was en route to the United States.
Some years later, during her University studies, she completed an internship in Curating at the Brisbane City Gallery before moving to Miami and San Antonio in the United States.
She is inspired by where she has lived, our landscape and the universe. From a more graphic art she now concentrates on Impressionism, Expressionism, and Abstract realism.
