Background

Painting is natural to me and I have always had a great love of art. I have painted since I was a little girl,  developing a love of oils when I was about 11. I could see beauty everywhere around me in nature, particularly around Eden NSW where I used to holiday as a child.

I majored in art as part of my education degree, then took part in my first exhibitions as a member of the Glenroy Art Group. Later on, I moved to the Macedon Ranges and joined several of the local art groups to exhibit with them. I have been tutored in watercolour by highly respected artists such as Paul McDonald Smith and John Pastoriza Pinol. I have also had regular classes in oils and mixed media with Archibald finalist Daniel Butterworth.

People have described my work as hyperrealistic and recently I have focused more on realistic wildlife portraits. I’m not sure how I would describe my style, particularly some of my looser works, but I just love the paint itself, especially oils .. the vibrant colours .. the rich textures .. the freedom of getting lost in the painting process.
