Background
Working from my country studio in Macedon, Victoria, I love to create works using mixed media, mainly in the form of abstracts. Using a wide range of dry and water-based media, especially acrylics and collage, I prefer to work freely and intuitively. As well as brushes, I enjoy using informal methods of applying paint, seeking textural depth and richness. Currently I am exploring the technique of encaustic. Coming from an art teaching background originally, I believe in supporting arts in the community and like to be involved with various groups and activities, for example, The Macedon Ranges Art Collective and the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges Open Studios program.

Exhibitions:
For many years Marian has been a keen member and contributor to community art groups: Woodend Art Group, Buttlejorks and Macedon Ranges Art Group. In 2006 she was a founding member of The Macedon Ranges Arts Collective, which runs its own gallery in Mount Macedon. She also is a participant in the Daylesford and Macedon Ranges Open Studios programs and shows her work in various annual art shows. In additions she has also held two solo exhibitions and been involved in three joint exhibitions in the Macedon Ranges area.
