Background
Richard Byrnes is a practising artist, having held 22 solo and over 100 group exhibitions in Australia and overseas. He teaches regular sculpture and drawing classes at Workshop Arts Centre and Waverley Woollahra Art School in Sydney . In addition he teaches workshops in Bronze casting , clay sculpture and Travel Sketchbook.
Richards works are included in the National Gallery, University of NSW, Artbank, Macquarie University, Manning, Orange and Bathurst regional gallery and various regional gallery collections. Richard’s public sculpture commissions can be seen in North Sydney, Marrickville and Macquarie University. He is represented by the Robin Gibson Gallery in Sydney. He is a previous winner of the Hunters Hill, Blacktown, Waverley, Thursday Plantation and Manning Sculpture Prizes and is a winner of the NSW Travelling Art Scholarship and Paris Studio Residency.

Art Courses:
Classes are available for both beginners and more advanced students. Those new to sculpture will be guided through a variety of sculptural techniques aimed at acquiring skills and working towards finished pieces. Techniques such as carving, mould making, modelling and casting will be explored. Experienced students will undertake their own projects. All levels of students welcome.
Fees cover tuition. You will need to provide your own art materials – please contact the tutor for a materials list. Cost includes $10 of basic materials and tools are also provided.
