Art Tuition:

This course is in 2 parts which can be taken together or as single options:

1:Students are taken through a range of stimulating and challenging mixed media experiences designed to exercise right brain (creative) thinking. The course focuses on Drawing skills plus Acrylic Painting in mixed media. The emphasis is on fun and experimentation. 

2: Accessing deeper levels of awareness and subtler levels of thinking by learning to practse the Transcendental Meditation® technique (TM) . The deep rest experienced in 20 mins of meditation practice  enables clearer thinking and flow of creative ideas as well as stimulating total brain functioning. http://www.tm-women.org/increasing-creativity/

Background:

Heather is a practising Artist and teacher living in the southern suburbs of Adelaide. She originally trained as an Art Teacher at the National Art School in Sydney from 1969 to 1972 where she majored in Painting and Drawing. When she was at art school she learned to practise the Transcendental Meditation® (TM) technique (“because they said it would increase my creativity”). Later she trained as a TM teacher and still uses this technique as a mental ‘creative tool’; -  ‘ to keep my ideas fresh and flowing’ .

‘I am always creating something and like most artists I find that the act of creating is a wonderful end in itself. I enjoy exploring figurative and landscape painting, using a wide variety of surfaces and media. Generally I like to explore what lies below the surface of life, the motivations that propel people on in their lives or the emotions and the world of imagination that the landscape around us evokes’.
