Art Tuition:
I started running painting workshops in 2019 after being approached to do them. The medium is either oil or acrylic. My workshops are fun and informal, and my style can be described as traditional realism. A practical hands-on approach giving plenty of tips and techniques to start you on your artistic journey. Suitable for beginners to quite advanced level.
Please feel free to contact me regarding future workshops for art group in Australia in particular around South Australia as a I based in Adelaide. However my partner and I often travel around Australia in our motorhome, so I may be able to combine my love of travelling and painting with workshops interstate.
I can structure a workshop to suit the needs of your art/painting group – landscape, seascape, still life etc. Please email me with any enquiries lindsaymk1@hotmail.com
Previous workshops I have conducted include painting waves/surfs for Bridge Arts in Murray Bridge and still life for the University of Third Age art group in Strathalbyn.
Background:
Lindsay Kilminster is an artist specialising in traditional fine art. Lindsay took up painting seriously when he retired in 2013, deciding to follow the footsteps of his grandfather John Love who founded the Adelaide Arts Society in 1952.
Lindsay paints mainly in oil as he is attracted to its vibrant colours and durability. He loves painting a wide variety of subjects including landscapes, seascapes, still life, flora and fauna and portraits. His inspiration comes from observing the environment around him as Lindsay feels nature is a wonderful teacher. This often sees him painting plein-air, although he also paints in his garden studio from photos he has taken. Lindsay is particularly drawn to seascapes. The wide open seas fascinate him and he has been mesmerized by wave formation from an early age, resulting in several paintings of wild seas. Of particular interest are cloud formations, water reflections and wildlife especially seagulls, pelicans and cockatoos which are often depicted in his paintings.
Today Lindsay combines his passion for art and travelling around Australia with his partner Anne in their motor-home, often venturing into roads less traveled and capturing on canvas the grandeur of the Australian outback with its vivid colours and changing moods throughout the seasons.
