Mark Dober – Biography

Mark is a professional artist who works in oils, watercolour, and mixed media (watercolour, gouache and oil pastel).  He makes his work in the landscape in the central Victorian region of the Goldfields (Mark and his artist wife, Elizabeth Nelson, live in Castlemaine).

In 2018 Mark (along with Elizabeth Nelson) are showing at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery the landscape painting on paper made during their recent Hill End residency. Last year Mark exhibited multi-sheet watercolours of the You Yangs at Geelong Art Gallery.

Mark is regularly exhibited in prestigious national art prizes – these are listed on his curriculum vitate on his website – www.markdober.com.  He is a regularly published freelance art writer, has a PhD in Painting from Monash University, and runs a busy program of painting workshops (mainly plein air).
