Classes are designed for students and artists wishing to develop their work in an encouraging and innovative environment. No class style is taught, as students are encouraged to pursue their chosen direction (from realism to abstraction). Experimentation, mental stimulation and invention are all desired outcomes.
The classes are suitable for students who have some experience, and who wish to move from copying to creative interpretations. Strong emphasis on composition and design through drawing is encouraged.
Classes are currently held on Mondays from 12.30 to 3pm and on Thursday mornings from 9.30am to 12 noon.
Background:
Ron was born in Mount Gambler, South Australia and now lives in Templestowe, Victoria. Starting out as a realist painter, his style has evolved into a more contemporary abstract impressionist style. He mostly paints in oils producing semi-abstract images built upon figurative studies drawn from life.
Most of his works are completed in the studio from reductive compositional drawings. His style is unique and lively and his paintings have a strong underlying structure achieved by line & colour.
