About This Painting:
Acrylic inks were dribbled and sprayed onto the canvas and then the flowers were painting on with acrylic paint. Afterwards I repainted over it in oils with a palette knife to create lots of texture and depth of colour.The background was smoothed and muted allowing some leaves to vanish into it. Finally black paint was used with a stick to suggest some leaves and buds. This painting is on a stretched canvas and is unframed but can be framed on request.
Inspiration
I am fascinated with light filtering through leaves and flowers making them almost transparent in the mid day sunshine. I have created this by blending the background into the leaves and smoothing it out with a palette knife. The bright red against the blue, green really makes the flowers pop.

Whilst this painting is unframed it can be framed on request. It can also be posted with the canvas removed from the timber strut and rolled into a cylinder.
