This painting captures the raw drama and unpredictability of rodeo — the split second when a determined ride suddenly goes wrong. The horse is twisting to regain its balance as the rider is thrown, creating a powerful sense of movement, energy and chaos. I wanted to capture that fleeting moment of action that makes rodeo so exciting and unpredictable — when, quite literally, another one bites the dust.
