About This Painting:
I worked from a photo of mine taken on our last visit to Margaret River, a few months ago. I depicted, as accurately as I could, most of what was in my photo, except for some invention in the clouds and with the figures, and some simplification of the surface of the water in the middle of the river. Oils with only the use of some linseed oil, so sessions were separated by weeks to allow drying time.
Inspiration
I liked the misty seaside atmosphere, and the contrast between that and the bright river water and shiny rocks in the foreground.
