About This Painting:
Scratchboard, the painting is scratched into an Ampersand clayboard and the image is then painted by ink. Much of the background is left black. When finished, the painting is then sprayed with a sealer to protect it. It is glued to a board and framed in wood. No Glass.
Inspiration
I met these bears in Yellowstone sanctuary for Grizzly bears that had been rescued. These where about to commence finding their food. Huge bears, but so gentle with each other. I am always inspired to photograph such incredible creatures, watched them for hours & hours, thousands of photographs. Feel enlightened to have been in their company. Wonderful to paint.
