About This Painting:
Pointillist view of five classical musicians having an impromptu run-through of some of their pieces, in a sitting room, with the afternoon light filtering through the curtains.
Inspiration
I worked from photo I had taken in 2012, at the home of a violin-maker friend. The people depicted are all prominent musicians in Cape Town. I like being around musicians who are loving what they do and concentrating serenely. I regard it as a privilege to record their images in paint. Also, pointillism is one of my favourite styles, both to see and to work in.
