About This Painting:
On a flat piece of canvas, taped to a board, I did a thin outline in yellow acrylic paint and painted the picture in oils, leaving traces of the yellow outline showing. The process was almost alla prima, as there were only a few tiny details I changed once it was dry to the touch.
Inspiration
About 8 years ago, I was in the workshop of a friend who is a violin-maker, when this young lady, a customer of his, came to try out her violin after he had made some adjustments. I took a photo, and put it away for future use. This last December (2018) I worked from this photo. I like the serene concentration exhibited by musicians, and have painted several works celebrating this state of mind.
