Background
Aileen Mcleod is an experienced artist/tutor in a number of media and subject matter.
Aileen has been involved with art from childhood with the encouragement of her mother having painted the door of the sunroom with Black Board Surface for Aileen to work on.
Portraits are her favourite subject but Aileen loves to paint in many mediums and subjects. Quite a number of VIPs have been included in her portraits commissions: Kamal, Bobby Limb, Roma Blair, Ken Duncan and others. Aileen has been interviewed, as a guest on TV, regarding her art and appeared in Women’s Weekly, Woman’ Day and other magazines. Some awards have come her way including the International Award for Portraits on Porcelain.
Aileen’s floral paintings have been showcased by Queensland Wildflower/Wildlife Society. Her teaching experience includes resident Art/Craft tutor at Loquat Valley School Bayview. She is honoured that the “Aileen McLeod Art Award” has become an annual event at this school.
Aileen welcomes Portrait commissions, from life or photographs.
Together, with husband Murray, Aileen has operated Art galleries in iconic areas such as Norfolk Island and Mt. Tamborine Qld.

Aileen taught Art/Craft at Loquat Valley school Bayview, Sydney and a source of pride is the annual ‘Aileen McLeod Art Award’ which was established some years ago. She conducted online art classes for 4 years with Suite 101, a Canadian site and now, having moved to the Central Coast NSW conducts a weekly art class, with husband Murray, at Green Point community centre and has also taught classes at Gosford Gallery and held workshops on a regular basis with Central Coast Art Society.
Aileen and Murray have also self-published a range of both books and DVD’s offering easy to follow step by step instructions of art works in all mediums; oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolour. These are available for purchase from their website or from www.amazon.com.
